Invitation |

Dear fellow beekeepers and friends,
I wish to invite you to the 48th Apimondia Congress in Santiago, Chile. Mark your calendars and make
plans to attend this international beekeeping congress in a beautiful setting. Chile offers a wide range
of landscapes to explore either pre-or post-Congress: from the Atacama Desert in the north to
beautiful Patagonia in the south.
The setting for this congress is Santiago, the capital of Chile, with the snow-capped Andes mountains
as a backdrop. Technical tours will take you to nearby beekeeping operations along with the possibility
to visit world class bodegas to taste Chilean wines. During the Apimondia Congress you can meet old
friends and make new ones as you tour the ApiEXPO and/or take in the latest science and beekeeping
ideas.
We face many challenges in beekeeping and the Congress will work to highlight sustainable beekeeping
practices. The world has been turned a bit upside down in recent years with disruptions to travel and
global health. This congress provides a wonderful opportunity to begin to return to normal, while
enjoying the warmth and hospitality that Latin America has to offer. Please join us in Santiago, Chile,
September 4-8, 2023. Vamos juntos a Santiago!
I look forward to seeing you there!
Jeff Pettis
APIMONDIA President
Dear fellow beekeepers, scientists and entrepreneurs of the international beekeeping world,
This comes to you with warm greetings from Chile, and I am really happy to invite you all to come to
Chile in September 2023 for the 48th APIMONDIA Congress.
We are working hard to make your stay in Chile an unforgettable experience. We have excellent
facilities in the Congress Center, first class hotels and other reasonably priced lodging alternatives and
diverse beekeeping activities to show you, that are spread all over the country. We hope to stimulate
debate on transversal issues of interest to all.
“APIMONDIA Chile 2023 - Sustainable Beekeeping, from the south of the world” is the slogan that will
be discussed in different sessions of the Congress. We hope to offer a rich scientific program, an
ApiExpo full of innovations, associative debate on matters of transversal interest for all and technical
tours oriented to three principal aspects of beekeeping in Chile.
We are waiting to welcome you in person from 4 to 8 September 2023 and either before or afterwards,
you will be able to participate in different ApiTours, which will give you the opportunity to appreciate our
amazing landscapes, Chilean gastronomy, the warm welcome from our beekeepers, and from those
who are preparing the special offers of rural tourism.
We look forward to seeing you in Chile!
